About Us

The Humane Race is Berkshire Humane Society’s largest fundraiser held in northern Berkshire County. Proceeds from the event help us care for the homeless animals of our community, as well as people. We offer many life-saving programs including low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, free vaccine clinics, and a pet food pantry for families who are experiencing financial hardship. The Ken Freeburg Fund helps us cover the cost of extraordinary medical care of animals that would not be adoptable without treatment. Our SafePet Program, administered in partnership with the Elizabeth Freeman Center and Berkshire Medical Center, provides temporary care for animals whose people are in crisis. Events such as the Humane Race support these vital efforts.

All of the Humane Race’s participants make this work – and so much more – possible. Our goal for 2019 is $20,000. Thank you for joining us!
